MCA Mentor Internship
About the Mentor Internship
The purpose of this opportunity is to train future leaders. This will be done by supporting participants in the successful completion of the NASA L’SPACE Mission Concept Academy (MCA). This will include helping teams structure themselves in terms of roles and responsibilities, providing feedback on different deliverables, providing office hours and one-on-one meetings, participating in leadership and team development training, and overall being available to help students with questions. Other tasks may be assigned as necessary.
The work hours of a mentor are flexible and custom schedules can be created and approved by supervisors, but response times are expected to be no more than 48 hours unless otherwise coordinated with a supervisor. Mentors will have an experienced Advisor who will act as a supervisor to them. They will help answer questions mentors have and will also be a secondary reviewer on mentor's feedback to the team's deliverables.
Mentors will have the opportunity to attend new and previously attended academy sessions to hear from industry professionals, and will have access to software used in industry.
